The EOWS 612 from Sheldon Park in Livonia Michigan has come back. I talked with West Shore Services a bit about acquiring it, and 1 week ago I bought it and brought it home to Livonia! While I was at WSS they told me, " if you hadn't bought it, it would've bit the dust with the rest soon". So sadly other 612's and 812's are going to be scrapped, but at least this one survives. It's still undergoing restoration at the moment, and I've already been featured on the city's Instagram page

Someone should get a 812 before there gone.

Unless you’ve actually seen the size of an 812, it’s hard to understand the amount of time and effort it would take to transport and store what amounts to be a useless rotating speaker. The thing is the size of a small car.

Trust me, I'd love to save one of Bay City's 812s, but I simply have no room. I'm moving in a couple of years so hopefully I can expand my siren collection later. The 612 is big enough (Half a story tall), I'm sure an 812 would be almost overwhelming

West Shore are keeping those 812s, and have planned to have them outside their lot on a pole. At least that's what I know about them.

That's Interesting, I didn't hear about that. They have a lot of cool historic stuff there so I guess it make sense to keep a few sirens for display

612's are half a story tall. Thinking about moving an 812 into my backyard gives me nightmares. Though it would be cool to own one. Oh well.

It would be nice to own an 812 as they are extremely rare.

If any siren enthusiast lives in Illinois ,if anyone is interested ,there are 2 inactive EOWS 408s still standing. One is on N Park ave in front of a store called Dollar General ,And the other one is on E Stotlar st and S 11th street. Both even still have SiraTone controllers.
