Canton, TX

Wed Jun 24, 2015 2:23 pm

Well, I did some Google Maps hunting in Canton, TX a while ago and found a couple sirens around there. To be specific, a Thunderbeam at a park and a newer Model 2 at the water tower across from the high school.

There's also a dual-tone Banshee at the huge flea market there, which I have seen multiple times, and, according to a friend, a Screamer at a fire station.

The Thunderbeam does not appear to be hooked up. However, if memory serves, all the other sirens appear to be hooked up.

A Google search reveals that they do indeed have a system in place, see here: http://thecantonherald.com/articles/201 ... -next-week

Do any of you know of any other sirens there?

There is a Darley sitting on the ground underneath the water tower downtown. (As of 2012)

I've seen the Banshee at the flea market. I thought I remember it being an SD-10...

If I remember right, I believe there is a model 2 near the First Baptist Church downtown. Hope they all worked for this tornado they had yesterday

Yeah it was a bad one, EF3 on the ground for 50 miles! From all the videos I've seen I haven't heard any sirens. :(
