San Angelo Tx City-wide siren map

Mon Apr 07, 2014 9:49 pm

It looks like the city of San Angelo Tx has updated their Emergency
Management page with a map and location list of their sirens.
Most of them are Allertors, but there are a few thunderbolts, P-50's SD-10's, and i think a few P-10/15
There are some newer T-128's and i saw one ASC E-class or ATI speaker Array's
when we were driving through the city.
I've been there a few times and their sirens are mounted LOW!
My brother saw an Allertor that must have been at least 20 feet off the ground by a Stripes gas station.
Some Allertors are pretty close to houses, and a few thunderbolt almost seem to be
in peoples backyards.

Any way here is a video they released.

Here is their .PDF from their website that includes street addresses, old and new maps!

cool video but is it me or is the rotation of the T-28 in the video not matched up with the rotation sticker? looked to me like it was rotating in the opposite direction of the rotation sticker
According to my signature ive been 16 years old for the past two years.Apparently i have found the Fountain of Youth

Sounds like they got the DC connections backwards. Bad thing is the siren is not running at full output if it's turning backwards due to the rotor design. The chopper and rotator both share the same negative connection, so the rotation is an easy way to tell if you've got it wired up backwards.

Ben, Travis and I will have to go get a video of this system in action. I'm still wondering if the elusive Amarillo P-50 was actually in San Angelo or Sweetwater since Amarillo EMA claims a P-50 was never part of the system.

I don't think it was in San Angelo. I asked around a couple years ago with various city departments there, and the one P-50 they have by the lake is the only one they have ever had. I went and found all of the units they have listed on streetview as well. I have only ever found one there. The rest were Tbolt's and Allertors.

There’s a minsonception here. I wanted to map out the system before it was replaced. It’s not gone, I must’ve typed it out wrong. I’ll fix it later.
