I agree, it's pretty nice considering that it got hit by an E-F5 in 1974.

Why would they mount them that low?

I don't know. They look big if you're driving right next to them!

As a side note, none of Xenia's sirens would be older than 1975--they didn't even HAVE any sirens when the F5 hit during the Super Outbreak; they set up their network in the aftermath of it.

There's a couple other Thunderbolt locations just outside Xenia, all of which have been replaced with TBolts.
- Union Rd. at Bell Rd (TBolt has been removed).
- Brush Row Rd. about 1/4 mile east of OH 68 (TBolt has been removed).

I think you meant replaced by 2001s(?).

That's sad. I wish there were more still remaining! At least most of them are still there! :D

I wish they would have replaced the Thunderbolts, but left them in place. Oldiesmann said a while back that there was a Thunderbolt in Rotary Park in Xenia, but we drove by there, I went on Bing Maps, and I went on Google Maps but did not find anything. So I don't know if they removed it or if it was something he thought was a Thunderbolt. :?

I spotted a yellow hornless Thunderbolt next to a restaurant called "Nicks". Sadly, that Thunderbolt has been removed by the restaurant for extra parking space.
There is another hornless Thunderbolt behind McKinley Elementary School in Xenia. A link to it can be found below.
