Bumpity bump bump. They have decommissioned the system. After the malfunction they apparently looked into replacing it, which would cost around $500,000.

This is super sad. I super duper disagree with the "new technologies" as I truly believe they are inneffective and not up to the standards that sirens are... but honestly, the ATI system I'd honestly say is worse. Especially since it's a ripoff that doesn't stand to the quality of the original. They could probably get some used and restored sirens for cheaper. But I'm sure this experience ruined their opinions of sirens and well... anyone who isn't listening to the radio or using a phone just might be a goner in the event of a tornado actually striking. (Sorry are comments like these too harsh?)
