Single tone 5M 1000. I compare it to a T-128.

Plus those DB ratings where attained through the use of a sealed chamber.

Think the 2001-130 has an inflated rating? 5M thunderbolt for sure seems louder than that. So does the T128.
Own and love a Thunderbolt 1000 and a Model 5.

I think Federal falsely advertised the 612, because Dane County got 124 out of their 612s. I remember seeing some brochures for the 408 and 812, which showed the 408 being 128, and 812 being 132, and there's no way that's correct
There's no way Federal is correct or Dane County is correct?
Is Dane County the final authority on siren sound level measurement?
How do we know they are measuring it correctly?
Hmmmmmm.......
There's no way a 408 could be 128 db maybe it would be 108 db because that would make since but I believe the 812 is between 126-130 db and 100 ft away

The EOWS 612 was rated 124dBc @ 100'. This means that EOWS 408 was likely around 118-120dBc and the 812 matching the 612 at 124dBc. The EOWS 812 is quite literally a taller, more expensive 612. They both share the same amount of drivers and Wattage.
My knowledge excels on the Federal Thunderbolt siren and SiraTone EOWS sirens. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Wow, I forgot about making this. Cool to see people still come back to it though.

The Darley Model 5 would be pretty much the same as the Federal Model 5. The only thing that's different is the housing. It is possible that some of the Darleys are a little quieter due to the vents in the housing being more restrictive. Certain versions have just a row of thin slits instead of big windows with a wrap-around screen. Can't imagine that making a huge difference; maybe a decibel or two.

The rating for the Model 5 depends on if you mean the actual 5HP siren that people had been calling the Model 3, or the 7.5HP siren that was known as the Model 7 before the name got switched to Model 5 later on. The 5HP was rated around 105 I think (not sure how accurate that is), and the 7.5HP was anywhere from 112 to 114 depending on which manual you read.

Apologies for the late reply, I was on vacation for three weeks with no internet access.

Does anyone have decibel ratings for the Federal Signal ST-10 ? It’s a very rare model.

Most likely the same as an STH-10 or SD-10.
I have a thing for objects that light up or make noise.

The "ST-10" isn't a real siren model, it's just a siren that was made from a bunch of different siren parts slapped together. That rotor is definitely not Federal. It'd likely have a similar decibel rating to other omnidirectional 12-port sirens with no horns.
