Towns with 550AT sirens?

Thu Nov 24, 2011 5:59 pm

I was curious, do any towns have 550AT sirens? I Know Callahn, CO has one, but are there others?

I think Colorado Springs still has a few standing, but have been deactivated since 1989 I believe. There are also a few other towns in Colorado with one, I forget where though.
Resident of a county with big a mixture of sirens, but in the process of being replaced. :(

There's one in a small town in NV (info courtesy of Adam P.) I don't want to step on toes by blabbing the exact location.

Manitou Springs, CO has one at their city hall, which is back in service from what I've heard (and it had completely changed positions from May to June of this year). There's also one in Sugar City, CO behind their town hall.

There's also one somewhere in St. Louis, MO.

There is one each in Calhan, Manitou Spgs, and Sugar City, CO. They all are from about the same era and Manitou's may or may not be tested... Time to go to City Hall and find out once and for all - and a test time since the bluffs and canyons around town make for probably a wicked echo/reverb from Manitou HS's parking lots.
Still close enough to a Fed Sig 550AT to drive out on test day: First Friday in May - 7PM!

He probably espouses to the same quitting habits as this guy.
A resident of arguably the most siren-diverse county in history.
