Re: Electra Tx first Monday siren test.

Well, that absolutely sucks. I was going to go see it over the summer. It's probably something simple, like a blown fuse in the RCM or something. Do you know what they're going to do with it?

Re: Sacramento E.D Bullard siren going off.

There’s a hell of a story here. So it all began late last year, when one of our own (Valtonus) posted a blurb on r/Sacramento about the siren system, which promptly took off and caught the attention of one John Bartell, a reporter with ABC10. He reached out to Valtonus, and after months of negotiati...

Re: Dallas Flood Siren System

Alright, here’s what I know. The system consists of five 2750s, at these locations: (32.8693507, -96.8277186) (32.8586261, -96.8442005) (32.6856156, -96.8081472) (32.7420735, -96.7839446) (32.7392131, -96.7525202) They are tested every six months, the last test was October 24, 2018, and the next tes...

WHOMST SUMMONED ME

So Des Monies tested the above HOR and a Thunderbolt in 1953. The thunderbolt vastly outperformed the Sirex and so that’s what they went with.

Sweetwater, TX recordings

So I found myself in sweetwater on test day - first Monday of the month - with two cameras and an audio recorder. This is the result. HQ was at the P-50: https://youtu.be/XTTXJXUuk7c (skip to 12:00) Camera 2 was at the Thunderbolt at Animal Control: https://youtu.be/u33-LghUyfI And the stereo record...

Re: Drone footage I shot of a P-50/T-135 in Richland Hills, TX

Be wary with Ennis, I wouldn’t go any time before May or after September. Apparently, according to the fire chief, they “only test during tornado season”. Whatever. So, last summer I went out to Ennis to shoot one of their bolts. It was a super abbreviated test, like... just baaaarely longer than a...

Re: Drone footage I shot of a P-50/T-135 in Richland Hills, TX

Nice shots, man! Be wary with Ennis, I wouldn’t go any time before May or after September. Apparently, according to the fire chief, they “only test during tornado season”. Whatever. Hurst is a safe bet, they’ve got like seven of those Allertors and a Penetrator and usually go at 1:00 on the dot. Ano...

Re: New guy first post /UPDATE

This is the post I have been waiting for for years. Great to see that more progress has been made on it. Was it originally designed to spin at 1725 RPM? That would make it an octave lower and considerably quieter. In this instance, the motor only drives the rotation mechanism, not the chopper - tha...

Re: any info on this would help

That motor could very well be original. In fact, 1979 sounds about right for capicator start/run. Keep in mind, the M-10 was discontinued sometime after 1984, as shown here:
