Re: AR / AF Timer Parts

Hi! Yes, they use 3PDT relays, but they're not octal bases. Octal strictly refers to 8-pin tubes and sockets. Also, that might just be a typo, but the transformers in these do not have a 12V secondary. All of the components inside run off of 110-120VAC. I actually managed to find one AR Timer in my...

Re: AR / AF Timer Parts

Going off of my AR timer, the two relays are both 120 volt 3PDT 11 pin octal base. The transformer is a 120/240 volt primary and 12 volt secondary, i see nothing on it's va rating, and only 17-7405 stamped on it. Unfortunatley the parts sheet really doesnt provide any more useful information. Hope t...

Re: Thunderbolts in existence

Tiffin Ohio recently removed a thunderbolt and is for sale on an unnamed auction site. It looks to be the one that was in service on the north side of town. Description says it quit rotating and was replaced. (Not my photo) Oof, I forgot to mention that. This was the one by the fairgrounds. I may o...

Re: Map of Sterling Sirens (past and present)

I grew up near Haxtun and would see it whenever I went there. The 7v8-H replaced it in the mid 2000s.

There used to be a forum member here from that town that mentioned that siren frequently. Maybe he snagged it!

Re: Miscellaneous Siren Photos Thread

Today I visited the Denver Firefighters Museum. Upstairs tucked away in a corner was a very commanding and shiny horn! I talked to a staff member when I mentioned I owned controls for one, and he said the Thunderbolt will soon be permanatly on loan to the Wings Over The Rockies Air and Space Museum ...
