Section 651 of the Energy Policy Act of 2005

The population requirement listed above is in Section 651 of EPAct 2005 - it was inserted by then Senator Hillary Clinton. There is only one US NPP that meets that criterion - Indian Point. They installed 172 ATI HPSS32 electronic sirens along with an extremely complex control system that uses both ...

Exelon Nuclear

Exelon is a combination of Commonwealth Edison in IL and PECO in PA. They use a boat-load of T-bolts around Limerick Generating Station in PA near Pottstown - about 160 of them (soon to be replaced with T-128's). They also use about another 90 of them or so around Peach Bottom (also soon to be repla...

It was a brand-new siren

Guys, they had literally just installed the siren and were doing the initial commissioning test and 24 seconds later - poof! It wasn't the motor - as was noted by someone above.

Your count is low

Monticello had 97 sirens, with plans to add a few more. Prairie Island had 108 sirens, with plans to add 3 more. They are all Federal 2001's; with the single exception of the above-mentioned Modulator in front of the casino. The Modulator will "stutter" at the site area emergency level to ...
