Re: How do some enthusiasts buy/get sirens?

If you're lucky enough, on a road trip you might pass a downed siren with its replacement installed next to it. Have cash, be punctual, and hope you get in contact with the right people!

Looks sorta like a Fedelcode Model 2 that's covered in snow.
The quality of the photo doesnt help, but mentioning the snow could be what was messing with me, making the shroud look off. Maybe next summer a road trip is in order!

Big Elk Meadows VFD

While looking at fire trucks on Marketplace, I spotted this. I'm not sure if it's a rarer siren or a something else. Big Elk Meadows is southeast of Estes Park, Colorado.

Full shot of Fire Truck attached as well.

Re: My siren maps

Here's some help for some of your Kansas mystery sirens. Rexford - Thunderbeam Axtell - Model 5. Peep the facebook page mentioned below, and a different photo of the water shows what appears to be another siren on the tower, based on a power line running to it. I cant make it out though. The last ph...

Silt Colorado.
Darley Model 2?
I'm not too hip on Darley identification, but the Colorado map has it identified as a Champion.

Re: Mystery siren in Weldon, IL

It's a transformer bank, more than likely for the town well. One thing you can try doing is googling the town and looking at the pictures that pop up. I do that occasionally when I'm working on the Nebraska map and I occasionally get success. Searching the town for photos on facebook may help as well.

Re: Miscellaneous Siren Photos Thread

While out cruising tonight, I decided to check out Cumro Nebraska. When I pulled into the ghost town/remnants I was surprised/shocked to be greeted by a Screamer. Cumro has two houses, some grain bins, a substation, and an fire department outpost for Eddyville, which is south of Cumro. Yeah the pict...

Re: Half-replaced FS EOWS 612 in Hawaii

Looks like there’s nothing stopping me from taking this one! Wait… I live in Georgia… In all seriousness, this is very interesting. I’d wonder if any Hawaiian enthusiast (granted, if they have the space) would take it (of course, if EMA would let them). I tried to get the Maunuala bay (sorry if I b...
