Just saw one of the new sirens on Lindbergh about a block away from an old Whelen 3016. Are they putting the new ones near the locations of all the old ones or are they putting them in new locations?

Wasn't that the same storm that chased a news team down the Kansas turnpike where they and some other people hid under an overpass which isn't the best thing to do in a tornado?

There is an article in the Post Dispatch this morning. Looks like they are speeding up the process of replacing the sirens.

Why are they telling people this. Everyone knows they test the sirens the first Monday of the month at 11am weather permitting. I heard they ran the sirens three times during the New Year's Eve storms.

Were any sirens in St. Louis county damaged in the tornado? I could imagine any in the Sunset Hills area might have been toppled.

I was at work and didn't hear them but a co worker did. Mom said the sirens in St. Louis County when off three times today why so many soundings?

Why do Hurricanes have two horns? Is one an intake like the Allertor ?

Do they use a different mode for tests then they do for actual warnings?
