Re: Downtown Wilmington, Ohio 2001-DC Replaced

The Sentries are a mixture of age. The one near the apartment building and near the equestrian center appear to be older 90s models, so I doubt they'll be replaced if they're still up. Clinton Massie appears to be a newer, mid 2000s unit. As far as the fate of the 2001, I'm going to send some texts ...

Re: Downtown Wilmington, Ohio 2001-DC Replaced

The firefighter in Blanchester who maintains their city sirens informed us that their Beams came from Wilmington and are single phase. That also makes sense since the one I recorded in Clarksville was also single phase.

Re: Downtown Wilmington, Ohio 2001-DC Replaced

Also, the Whelen system replaced Thunderbeams in the early 2000s. The thunderbeams went to Clarksville and Blanchester where they are still running today.

Re: Downtown Wilmington, Ohio 2001-DC Replaced

Wow! I've tried to record this multiple times with no luck in them testing. That's a shame to see a smaller siren replace that, but it will be a cool addition to their system. However, The OAs are impressive for their size; I've recorded the one at the college. Keep us informed on the fate of this b...

Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

http://www.fox19.com/story/37561997/officials-investigating-dearborn-county-tornado-siren-delay Welp,Dearborn County had a major failure this morning. Most of their sirens failed to activate during the tornado warning and it has made the news. This doesn't surprise me as I have seen so many of their...

Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

Boone County didn't test due to Ice accumulation on the sirens. Apparently The OEM called dispatch after I did and told them not to test. Makes sense considering they've had issues before with their 2001 rotators locking up in the ice.

Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

Central Pkwy/Linn T128 accident Well today at about 10:30 I got a text from my Uncle who works at Engine Co 29, He told me a car had crashed into the tornado siren at Central Parkway and Linn Street. He asked me if I knew who to contact and I told him that I did and would leave a message. He said th...

Re: Darley re branding ACA sirens?

That's pretty cool. They've sold Federal, ACA, and now they sell Sentry products.

Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

Ok, I thought the Calhoun Hall T-128 started up a little late in the minute, and it’s test only lasted about 2 minutes. I could hear at least one other T-128 for a couple minutes after this one stopped. That explains everything. Interestingly, I could clearly hear some 2001s from Northern Kentucky ...
