Re: Franklin County, Ohio Siren Discussion

I've heard many ESC-2030s fail to pick up cancellation tones before, so I wouldn't be too surprised. Franklin County skipped their test again today, due to an "ongoing investigation". Not sure if this means FC will switch their frequency or activation method or what, but hopefully they wi...

Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

Was in Amelia at the 4/5 port off of Jenny Lind this month. From what I had heard in the distance after the Thunderbolt wound down (a slow deep in pitch dual tone wind down), and comparing it to the audio recording I got of the Hamlet EOWS*1212 in January, it sounds like the EOWS worked perfectly fi...

Re: What happened to Cleveland's old Thunderbolts and Model 5A's?

More information will be added to this topic in the future, likely of a new thread or addendum to this topic. Too much information to continue to keep updating the first post with. A friend of mine has obtained access to the old archives of The Plain Dealer via a Cuyahoga County Public Library membe...

Re: B&N Mobil Directo and ACA Allertor past and present map

The Beaver Valley Nuclear Plant Used to have Allertors as part of their system up until about 2011, When they all got replaced by 2001s or Equinoxes. Yes they did, in fact I did a bunch of research on their system not too long ago. I also have a map of their old system and their current system. The...

Re: Massey county 1003

That’s the 4/5 Port Thunderbolt near Oregonia. I filmed it last month. It’s only about 30 minutes away from where I live at. Mr. Werden installed a 4/5 port chopper in it as the original 5/6 port one was damaged beyond repair internally. Federal Field did not do a great job installing those two Thun...

Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

I don't know who's getting Clough Pike, but I'll be there either next month or July... I'd like to hear that one before I go off to college. I'm not even positive that it'll sound due to ongoing construction at the school. I was going to go today but decided to go to the one off Tealtown Rd because...

Cool! Is that the Model 5 along I-90 east of downtown Cleveland with the housing mostly gone?
Nope, this one was in the nearby suburb of Rocky River. The building no longer exists.

The other 5 missing the housing is still there to my understanding; that’s in Bratenahl.

Another new discovery: Here is a Model 7 atop a building in the Rocky River portion of the City. Photo circa 1972.
Credit to Brendan Williamson for finding this.

Re: Sterling M10 Weight?

Where in Ohio is this Sterling at by chance? I know there's a handful of M series units scattered across the state. In my county (Greene), there is an inactive unit located atop a building in the Village of Jamestown, which was replaced with an STH-10 in 1996. I can't think of any other roof mounts ...

Re: What happened to Cleveland's old Thunderbolts and Model 5A's?

Major breakthrough we just made here: Fairfax Elem Thunderbolt Cleveland Heights 1970s.jpg This was the original Fairfax Elementary School in Cleveland Heights, Ohio; located just outside the City of Cleveland. The Thunderbolt on top of the building supposedly came down with it. I'm unsure if this w...
