Re: Thunderbolt in South Texas found

Who here is being an absolute <insert word here> about it? All I was doing is pointing out that I've never seen a fiberglass horn (or any fiberglass part that I can recall for that matter) on a thunderbolt. Wasn't trying to upset anyone. Nobody posted anything after your last post. It looks like yo...

Re: Thunderbolt in South Texas found

Looks familiar. I believe someone has posted a pic of this siren on the board before maybe?

I guess I don't understand what you mean by this...
No fiberglass horn here, guys. This one is rusty and all metal

Re: Ferry building Thunderbolt

I doubt a drone can get that close to it without getting shot down.
Do you really believe that would happen??
Erm.. a question: did it rotate? Seems it couldn't have rotated without hitting the walls...
It couldn't have. It looks like it was mounted on that side of the tower to point inland.

Re: eBay find, Thunderbolt... 2000?

Forgive my saying that the seller probably has more than one screw loose if he thinks he's gonna get $5k for that siren.
Yeah. That's a new one for me. I've
never seen an eBay seller more than double a price after something didn't sell.

Here's the old thread about the 2000. It was in San Dimas. Pics are still up.

Re: eBay find, Thunderbolt... 2000?

I always assumed (that's assumed now) that the blower was driven by a gas engine/generator. The generator powered the chopper rotator at the same time engine powered the blower. The 12volt DC on that tag seems to me that would be the 12 volt battery that would be used to start the generator. That's ...

Re: eBay find, Thunderbolt... 2000?

$2500? Maybe if it was all original and hadn't been altered. And its a bit of a relief to see that horn has the same exact broken through stress cracks that my bar grille horn has. I guess its a relief because at least my horn isnt the only one like that.

Re: Thunderbolt RCM Manual

There's no dedicated manual for the

Manuals.
