Re: Question about Richland MO EOWS 612s

That sounds like a Whelen Vortex and a Thunderbolt on level 7 in that video-not a 612. The tone has the sound of a thunderbolt to it and doesn't sound electronic.

Re: Allertor in Jasper County/Joplin MO area?

That siratrol controlled the old Allertor that was on the roof of memorial hall, the 2001 controls are up on the roof next to the 2001. Guess they just never removed them.

Re: Allertor in Jasper County/Joplin MO area?

Joplin replaced their entire system with 2001-130’s after the tornado, so it wouldn’t have been a part of the system after that upgrade. Those Allertors weren’t the usual 9/12 port either, I can’t remember if they were 8/12 or 10/12 but I do know that it was one of the two. Either way, most of those...

Re: Titan Missle site

I'm pretty sure the massive explosion was more than enough of an indicator that there was a problem, and there probably wouldn't have been any personnel within hearing range of the siren anyways. It was most likely used for chemical leaks or other emergencies leading up to the launch of the rocket w...

Re: STH-10 With AR Timer Help

No, you will need a motor starter of suitable size to control the siren motor. The AR is only designed to control the motor starter. DO NOT attempt to run the siren motor off of the AR directly. You will also need a 3 phase source of power to run the siren which most residences do not have. If you ...

Re: Sirens Producing Sound via Intakes?

Another thing to remember is that SuperSirexes were one of the first sirens (correct me if i'm wrong) to be made, and they hadn't entirely perfected the design. For all we know, this was a design flaw and they never corrected it. They weren't, they came about long after the first sirens were made. ...

Re: Sirens Producing Sound via Intakes?

The horns on the Super-Sirex really don’t do much, it was consistently loud the whole time it was rotating, was more like a really loud omnidirectional.

Re: General Alabama Siren Discussion

Sorry about the huge bump up. Huntsville's sirens leave a lot to be desired. First of they have the stupid thought of only placing the sirens at schools, park's, and fire departments. This means that rural areas, where people most likely would be outside are not covered. The county really needs to ...
