Re: Re:

Washington DC currently has no siren system. I believe it was mentioned in the previous board that it once had a civil defense system consisting of Thunderbolts. This system was dismantled during the early 90's. Sounds like once Gorbachev Resigned and the USSR fell, they felt maintaining a system w...

Re: ACA Cyclones in the UK?

If I'm not mistaken there was a rumor a while back about the two hundred units that got shipped to Saudi Arabia, that they were supposedly never paid for, which dealt quite a financial blow to the company. I heard that as well... I always thought that was what brought the company into dire straits ...

Re: EOWS Siren Controller Differences?

I've been waiting ages to see those videos :) Don't sell it or give it away - this is probably the only known EOWS 408 (or 404) in existence! You should mount it on your house or something and give it a spin! I remembere that there are more, just no videos of a factory made one. If you search the b...

Re: Amarillo, TX P-50 Questions

Has anyone ever seen/found the area the P-50 is/was actually in? Side note: The link in the picture strangely leads to the United Volunteer Fire & Rescue: http://www.uvfr.org/ It could be anywhere, because its such a simple mix up. The reason that the link leads there is because the owners of t...

Re: Current Franklin County, OH siren system

Nice, those are a lot of sirens. Didn't the Whelens replace thunderbolts and an assortment of other sirens, at least in Columbus?

Re: EOWS Siren Controller Differences?

You'd think the 408 would be popular as it was the smallest of the rotating models. Actually no, because it was the smallest. Smaller model=less range, at least on an EMA perspective, but the controls are still expensive. Remember that it was still new, the technology was new, although rushed, so i...
