Re: Siren Craziness In Fort Worth!

As a fellow Fort Worthian, and someone who's been eyeing one of the last remaining Thunderbolts since they canned the old system fifteen years ago, I was wondering how you managed to get your hands on these guys? And, is there anyway some joe shmoe like me could fulfill one of their life's aspiratio...

Re: Thunderbolts in Cedar Hill, Texas

Is the SD-10 still located there? I heard rumors it was removed so I haven't bothered going out there to look, but if that's not the case I may go see it next time I'm in the area.

I didn't realize it at first but the Rollingwood police department is tucked away in the trees about 50 yards from the siren, which i...

Re: Thunderbolts in Cedar Hill, Texas

Thanks a lot! They look identical to the Cedar Hill Thunderbolts; maybe they're restored units from the old Dallas system?

Re: Sirens in Central Texas

I was asked this morning what I knew about the remaining Thunderbolts in Austin, so in case anyone else is interested in where they are I'll go ahead and forward my response. It took a couple trips and a little luck to find these guys. I discovered that almost all the sirens in Austin proper were ta...

Thunderbolts in Cedar Hill, Texas

These are a couple videos I shot of the Fire Station 212 and Kingswood Water Tower Thunderbolts on July 3rd and August 7th of 2013 in Cedar Hill, Texas. They test them the first Wednesday of the month at 2:00pm. I haven't been back since, and seeing as over a year ago there was already a 128 adjacen...

Re: Sirens in Central Texas

Austin used to have a system comprising of Thunderbolt 1000t's but they've almost all been removed. I've managed to find 3 in the city (which to my knowledge are the only 3 left) and they're obviously disconnected, but still fun to check out. One of them had its blower stripped for some reason; mayb...
