Re: Sheldon Park EOWS 612 Returns!

The EOWS 612 from Sheldon Park in Livonia Michigan has come back. I talked with West Shore Services a bit about acquiring it, and 1 week ago I bought it and brought it home to Livonia! While I was at WSS they told me, " if you hadn't bought it, it would've bit the dust with the rest soon"...

A rather low pitched STL-10. 2001 sirens are popping up EVERYWHERE!
You call that low pitched? That's as high as an STL-10 can go! It is three phase after all.
I still think it sounds awesome.

Re: Sheldon Park EOWS 612 Returns!

I got a message from Jeff at WSS saying "Hi Danny, Good to hear from you. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you what happened to the control cabinet. Most of them were in very bad shape. More than likely, they were just scrapped. Thanks, Jeff DuPilka | President West Shore Services, Inc. | 6620 Lake...

In the rules, it does say to try not to bash siren companies, because this page is trying to act professional. Another reason is so we wont stir up unwanted drama with other companies, because some EMA directors and staff of siren companies follow this page.
I'm sorry.

Re: Massive ATI Replacement in Frisco, TX

The 2910 is a far better siren for a community. They're just friggin loud and carry very well over a decent span of territory. I always thought the HPSS32 is a good unit for small applications such as an industrial area or a golf course or a small college campus where only one or two units are need...

Great to see it went to a collector instead of a scrap heap somewhere. I'm all about historic preservation, and seeing a rare siren being saved... Is a good day.

Berkeley Preparatory School Whelen Siren

When I was at Berkeley for a spring concert rehearsal, I noticed a Whelen WPS-2083. Very cool to see one on a high school campus!!!
