Re: Bonneville County Courthouse Whelen WPS-3016

Wow, that siren is in pretty bad shape. Rotor is dead, drivers are 'fluttering', continuous volume fluctuations. Probably will be the best example of what happens when you put something out in the open for years and leave it, pretty good example of neglect. :)

Re: Columbus GA Whelens, 3 Fails in One Video

So the siren that you recorded didn't sound at all... I heard one still in wail while others in the air-horn mode, and another stopping very early-on in the test. Did I hit the nail on the head for all three? :)

Looks like the rotor box is starting to become a teeter-totter. :p

Re: Federal Signal 508 and Federal Signal 2001 Ambiance

I'd be honestly interested if the 508 series was created with a dual tone fitting. Would be quite an interesting sound. :)

Re: St. Louis area siren enthusiasts: O'Fallon, Mo's new sir

If i read this topic correctly, that 2001-130 is from Joplin, MO? If so, that's the first time i've seen actual pictures from joplin, mo regarding the siren(s) being destroyed.

Hah - now that's an awesome noise maker! :)

edit; Was hoping that they would blast them all - but there probably wouldn't be enough pressure to make them all have a consistent tone.

If my eyes do not deceive me, the siren is up on the corner there. Between the two garage doors at the top under the roofing.

Re: Hartwell Dam opening w/horn

Speaking of which, here's a video of tablerock dam's siren/horn sounding off when they had some of the most amazing rainfall in recent time.
