Re: Post your Mystery Sirens here.

Anyone have a clue as to what this could be? It looks like possibly a 2T22 with custom housing, but I've never seen anything like this. Unfortunately this is 6 hours from where I live so I won't be going to find it in person anytime soon.

Re: Hamilton, OH 508's?

That does appear to be the case actually. I thought the original article said they were getting four new sirens, but it actually says they're getting three new ones and removing all but one of 8 existing sirens. I still don't understand how 3 508s can provide the same coverage as 6 TBolts and an HOR...

Re: Hamilton, OH 508's?

Yeah, that one got replaced as well. I have no idea why though. I'm hoping they don't kill the old HOR downtown

Go home Sentry, you're drunk!

I've been working on adding sirens in various parts of Ohio to PugetSoundStormWatch's map, and found this in Green, Ohio (about halfway between Canton and Akron): https://goo.gl/maps/GCjKs

Re: Hamilton, OH 508's?

According to journal-news.com they were installed back in September. There are actually 4 of them as the 2001 at Hamilton High School got replaced as well. http://www.journal-news.com/news/news/c ... ens/nhX5q/

Locally you have the village of Addyston, Ohio - a small town on the Ohio River in western Hamilton County. They have 3 2001s each spaced half a mile apart to cover an area of just under one square mile.

Re: And The Emmy For Most Ridiculous Siren Coverage Goes To.....

Decided to give this a bump as I've found another great example of overkill coverage. Found this in Dana, Indiana - a small town (0.29 square miles) about 78 miles west of Indianapolis. http://indianafiretrucks.com/pictures/vermillion/dana/dana-station-2014.jpg Photo from http://indianafiretrucks.co...

Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

Does anyone know if all of the replacement sirens are installed now? I was going through an old map of Hamilton County sirens I made several years ago recently and was unable to find the replacements for several of the older sirens.
