Taiwan is its own state. Well, that depends on if you ask since the PRC and ROC both hold claims that they are the one and only true China. Anyways, to get back on topic I have not been able to find many Chinese siren installs however I have found some audio clips of sirens from around the region. ...
This was the last recording of October 4th that I took after racing down to Decatur from Oak Ridge, TN. This siren is located at Glenwood Elementary School and tests on the first Wednesday at 5:00. The system in Decatur is comprised of 4 Whelen Vortex R4s and was installed in 2009. In addition to th...
aww you should have gotten a video of one of the AL-7200s those are rare I actually tried to record the one accessible AL-7200 at the ETTP which tests at 11:00, however I watched it fail as all of the AL-6000Rs went off around me. All of the Alertronics which were not removed in the Oak Ridge/Y-12 ...
This was the second test of the day on October 4th, recorded in Oak Ridge Tennessee. This siren is part of the system for the national lab and is located behind the post office in downtown Oak Ridge. The sirens test on the first Wednesday of the month at noon in three minutes of alert and are used t...
I made the trip up to Oak Ridge, TN today in hopes of recording this very rare Alertronic AL-7200 on Blair road at the East Tennessee Technology Park. While this siren unfortunately did not go off most likely because it is most likely part of a partly decommissioned on-site communication system, the...
I have been meaning to make a thread on this recently, but my schedule has not allowed that until now. I was recently in the area going to Microcenter and noticed that #19 was not in it's usual spot behind the sign shop. It turns out that the siren has been moved to fire station #19 just up the road...
I went back to Berry College last week to re-record the siren test since my old video had some weird exposure and missed part of the test. This time, I recorded the siren behind Evans Hall instead of the siren next to the Ford Buildings, as I had originally done. Berry College does a HI-LO test of t...
After oversleeping Chatsworth's 9 AM test and having the Bartow County noon test threatened by rain, I decided to go for one of the 2001s in Roswell since they test rain or shine at noon. The 2001 ended up going for 1 minute of alert, while the nearby Modulators sounded in a 3 minute wail signal. Th...
Awww, that is so cute! What brand is it? Could you make a video of it?
That would be an Automatic Alarm Co OC-9 siren. They are usually 12V and if I recall correctly use a chopper assembly similar to that of a Model L. They are also fairly rare, a great find indeed!
Sorry for the MASSIVE bump but what exactly was wrong with siren #19/what would cause a Thunderbolt or any other siren to start smoking? The siren had not been serviced in at least 5 years, and quite possibly never serviced since it was bought by Cobb County in 1989. Cobb never was a huge fan of se...
