Re: Texas Siren Testing

I recommend going to Greenville, they have a hurricane and they test on the first Wednesday. Other than that, Whitehouse in East Texas has a few unknown electronics that they test on the first Tuesday. Neither of the Greenville Hurricane 130s are still in use. The old system of Hurricanes and P-10/...

Re: Tyler TX Mod Test!

Also, is it me, or has the Chimes tone got faster than the older Modulators? Is this just an initial test of this siren, or do these Modulators test like this every test? Still a great video! You know what, now that I think about it, chimes do sound like they're quicker. Could it be a newer control...

Re: Tyler TX Mod Test!

Neat audio! I've often considered driving out there for the Tuesday test, but then it's the morning of and I don't feel like making the 2 hour drive to hear something we have 50 of here. I do like the mix of dual and single toned sirens, though as they continue phasing more Mod-II's in, I imagine t...

Tyler TX Mod Test!

Apologies in advance for not holding my phone the right way! Forgot it was test day, so the video shows about a minute into the test. I'm standing about 250 feet away from this particular siren, but I'm not sure you can see it. Enjoy! https://youtu.be/Nv5f9N5toTg

Re: What the heck does "2001" mean

Consider this speculation, but as it was a late 80's product, I'm guessing that it would've been a sales pitch that the siren would last past the year 2001, hence the name. This is just speculation, though.

I heard that Garland was under a warning, would've loved to hear those hurricanes in action.

Re: The replacement siren for the Thunderbolt.

Another question here... The 2001 is rated at 130 but the equinox is rated at 125. Now federal could have either gotten those numbers from the rate formula or actually at 100 feet or both... (They test for it better now adays than they used too...) But my question is: why is the equinox so much qui...
