Re: Polish air raid siren

The contemporary standard siren in Poland seems to be the "SAD" type, listed here: http://www.supron1.com.pl/main5.php?act ... 79&pid=424

Re: Model x in Komotini, Greece?

Here is an old Italian 12-port La Sonora siren sounding on 50 Hz. Apparently at least one European manufacturer used motor housings. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRZ7oVMcDhQ I think it's just the motor; it's quite wide. Also the siren in Komotini could very easily be a Fedelcode Model 2... https:...

Re: Model x in Komotini, Greece?

Hopefully he will send me a more detailed photo, so we'll be able to tell. How big is in general a Model 3? I found online a couple of pics and it seemed to be bigger than the siren in question... Since Europe is 50Hz, would that affect the Model 3's pitch (assuming it is a Model 3)? Yes, it would b...

Model x in Komotini, Greece?

A friend of mine, teacher at a primary school in Komotini (Thrace) Greece, just sent me this siren photo. The siren looks quite small and sits on top of the school. The photo isn't very clear, but it looks nothing like a european siren. Could it be a Federal or Darley model x? http://3dim-komot.rod....

Re: ELVIMA siren in Athens - Attack, All Clear

The same siren recorded from a different angle, somewhat closer ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aVa_4xZhaQ

Also can someone tell what could cause such a slow wind up and wind down to this siren? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjPBX6NZ ... taPP5zJxzQ

ELVIMA siren in Athens - Attack, All Clear

Another autumn siren test in Athens. This time I recorded an old Greek 'ELVIMA' siren from the 50s. (8 ports/380 Hz) Enjoy: (Probably the guy in charge of checking the siren, has already lost his hearing from previous tests!) Re: Carcassonne Castle Siren

The French standard siren is still manufactured by several companies. Check the specs:
