Pretty much the majority of Washington's system (and surrounding areas) were at schools, with some exceptions being pump stations, FDs, Rec Centers, and Gov't buildings.

When my dad was in the army, he reported seeing a Thunderbolt at one of the US bases in Japan, but I'm not sure which base offhand. I doubt it exists, but is still a domestic siren in a foreign land no?

Update on a London siren. The whatever it is on the roof of Vanguard Self Storage is still there as of May 2022. The Hawker Hunter jet fighter that was on the roof was moved inside after being taken down, and I wanted to see if the siren was still up. To my surprise, it is! See the upper right secti...

Pretty interesting video actually. You're correct on D86 being 1986, to be exact yours was made in April of 1986.

Looks like some airport equipment to me. I don't see any controls or anything that would necessarily give it away so to say as a siren.

Looks like one to me. I do know there is one on some school in SFO that's just kind of there sitting on the corner of the roof (dismounted may I mind you) for no explainable reason that I know of. Don't remember the school name. I know it was an elementary school however.
