Re: Israel Electronic Sirens

The sirens that have a warble tone you are hearing are Hormann ECN-3000's. There are a large number of them scattered throughout the area. They are programmed with a wail tone as opposed to a more typical fast wail or attack that sustains in pitch. The other sirens are ATI HPSS32's that were install...

Re: UPDATED (SIREN EXISTS): The Whelen WS-2500

Gonna bump this thread with some information I just found out. Supposedly, there were 5 WS-2500s installed as a part of the Cooper Nuclear Station EPZ siren network, per this NRC document https://www.nrc.gov/docs/ML0104/ML010440221.pdf Odds are they are long gone now, seeing as the thunderbolts and...

Re: 1992-1993 "ACA Identity Crisis"

Does anyone know if there are any active ECN's left? I saw a few on Sullivan's Island, SC, but I've never heard them go off before. There are a couple in the Butler, PA area, at least one ECN-3000 and an ECN-600. There's also an ECN-3000 in Nekoosa, WI. All of those are active and have ASC controls...

Re: Alertus - 415/425 Hz Sirens In The US

I think it's time for me to bump this thread again. The city of Essen in Germany installed a system of Helin SONUS HES-2400 sirens. As I mentioned previously the company uses the same controls for their sirens as Alertus and Telegrafia. This particular system was installed with a slightly modified t...

Alabama Trip 11/06/19 - 1000AT, RSH-10A, HPSS16, & 4004

Back in November I made another trip to Alabama to record. We managed to get four videos in one day. Achievement unlocked. This was also my first time using my new Canon SX540 HS. I actually forgot to set the camera to 60 FPS, but even at 30 it is an improvement over my older SX510 HS which do...

Alabama Trip 10/2/19 - Dead Thunderbolt, 2001-SRN, The Dual 4004 Challenge

Back in October I decided to lurk into Alabama with my mom and grandmother to try and record as many sirens as possible in the Montgomery area. Ultimately I planned for four tests, but only three actually happened. Information about the systems are in the video descriptions. This is the first video ...

Loudoun ES-5000DC - First Loudoun Siren Recorded Using Voice

I present to you all the first up close recording of a Loudoun ES-5000DC and the first of a Loudoun using voice. This was my first experience recording a Loudoun siren. It's actually fairly loud, comparable to other sirens in its class. It performs like an ATI in the sense that it's not completely o...

Re: Asc t135?

The official documentation on them states that they produce 132 dB +/- 1 and have a 2 mile radius. It's quite a bit bigger and louder. The chopper in it is roughly about the size of the one in the P-15 and is driven by a 20 HP 72VDC motor. The T-128 in comparison has a chopper similar in size to the...

Re: Seabrook Whelen Trucks (Possible WPS-4000-II)

Since the post was bumped I figured I'd share my map of the current system. So far I've mapped 99 sirens out of the 121 in the main system, excluding the 2910 at the plant itself. https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1uiGZVM8q2GVAcpTxL-xYcrWUt1M&ll=42.92689806114372%2C-70.98405942949216&am...
