Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

I swear, for the second time now, I've been hearing a siren of some type going off for about a minute somewhere southeast of Finneytown. I think the last time, as well as tonight, I wondered if maybe it was from St. Xavier High School scoring a touchdown, but I doubt it. It was hard to tell what it...

15 Year Memorial Blasts.

Here is a thread for everyone that is going to be blasting sirens in memory of those who lost their lives 15 years ago on September 11th. To start, I blasted my USI Siren that I recently restored in 2 Cycles of attack, to represent the 2 family members that died in Iraq as a result of the attacks. h...

Here's my submission for FSMC #5. https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?hl=en&authuser=0&mid=1Rf4QlwNibcG-Lxn0hFvsiK7ptEg After an elected airhead made the decision to buy sirens based on cost and not quality, major problems happened. Citizens reported not being able to hear the Hornets, de...

Re: Fantasy Siren Map Challenges!

Broome County NY had numerous fire sirens, but never felt the need to install sirens. In 1978, The (broke) county decided to buy several Thunderbolts and 3T22s. Several other sirens were added as well. Unfortunately, they found that maintenance was far too expensive to do. Then, ACA tried to outdo f...

Here's my entry for FSMC challenge #3. https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?hl=en&hl=en&authuser=0&authuser=0&mid=1agtz8V3cv56TPgw8eI3ip-zyzw8 Originally, The county system was not owned by the county. The county had no incentive to purchase sirens, as there was believed to be a ma...

Re: ATI Question

From stuff I have read and watched ATIs don't seem to be ideal for large municipalities or large networks such as for nuclear facilities. Would ATI sirens be more ideal for smaller applications rather than large, such as a small town? In my personal opinion, ATIs are not reliable enough for any typ...

Re: Harrison county Kentucky sirens

30 seconds my butt... When we were there for a test they didn't go off until 12:08 and did a growl. The STH peaked for maybe half a second. Nice pictures. Be careful trying to get near the water tower one; there's a really sketchy abandoned house.

Sick 3T22, Buckner Kentucky.

Went down to Oldham County a few weeks ago. Despite a severe thunderstorm expected to hit at 10:40, the sirens activated right on time. As you'll hear, this :3t22: has a stuck shutter on the low tone. What surprised me was that it sounded good on the windup, but not at full power. Enjoy! https://www...
