Re: Early Fedelcode/Federal Electric Model 5/7?

It's hard to tell from the pictures, but based on your description, it's likely a Model 20. There are still a few units up and running, likely a few more that have been overlooked. Aside from the chopped up housing, I'm surprised how well it's held up. Cool find 182829323_924444431702190_33487408554...

Re: Vintage siren photos thread

I'm unsure, but it could just be an unconventionally shaped chimney. It does kind of look like a Red Arrow, but I don't really see a mount or a pole. I was looking at it closer, and it seems too tall to be a Decot. If it is a siren, judging by its overall shape and height, it may possibly be a Cosg...

Re: Whelen Siren Failures and Malfunctions

Most of the examples linked above are older units that are not maintained regularly. It is important to note that the company typically does not install sirens, as that is handled by licensed companies who contract for them. Poorly maintained and installed systems by these dealers should not be repr...

Re: How do I wire an STH-10 to a motor starter specifically the RC5.

Unfortunately it appears you are out of luck. There are some options that can allow you to run your siren off grid, but those are very expensive and borderline impractical. If you do find access to 3 phase power, wiring should be fairly simple and you can find a complete wiring diagram in literature...

Re: What is the Story Behind The "TWS-29X" Sirens

HSS is a Danish company who sells Whelen in Europe and the Middle East. They installed and presumably maintain the Whelen systems in Denmark and Saudi Arabia, the first picture is actually a Saudi Whelen I believe.

Re: Mystery siren in Gornji Milanovac, Bosnia & Herzegovina

These are sirens developed by the Mihajlo Pupin Institute in Belgrade, commissioned for use by the ministries of Defense and Energy. The system was developed in 1988, with the variant shown above being installed shortly after. Đerdap HPP, Limske HPP, Rudnik Gornji Milanovac Dam, and MEC Bitola are l...

Re: How do I get the bottom part of the motor off my STH-10

What exactly are you trying to achieve? I'm surprised a newer STH-10 would need a rebuild. To remove the motor, you need to first remove the chopper, which will then expose the bolts holding the motor face to the stator.
