Re: ASC job questions?

Tom with SWS here, I know ASC is currently looking for more staff in the production area. They are looking for full-time, but possibly part-time as well. We are not currently looking for any more workers at SWS, but that could soon change. I do also believe that ASC needs you to be 18 to get hired, ...

Re: The new T-128 horn design (intentional or not)

Allow me to enlighten you on the new horn design. The old design is not discontinued or completely switched to the new design. In fact the T-128 we are installing Friday, still has the old design. As most of you may know since the days of ACA, ACA, and American Signal never cast their own fiberglass...

Re: ACA / ASC siren controllers evolution

You can not judge what is inside based on the style of enclosure. We have seen CompuLert 3 boards inside the "Version 1" style box. The "Version 1" style box is actually CompuLert 2.

Re: What happened to the parent company of American Signal Corporation?

The parent company of ASC was Alerting Communicators of America, (ACA) died out because of poor sales. Then Mr. Biersach went on to buy ASC and then after some years, it is as we know it today. A little more info about asc: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Signal_Corporation#:~:text=ASC%20was...

Re: Ginna Nuclear power plant siren replacement

Most manufacturers do not want sirens going to collectors not out of fear of the collectors setting them off, but due to it possibly costing them a sale. If they can make sure old sirens or the siren part of the old sirens are disposed of it guarantees that it can't take away from a future $22,000 s...

Re: Peach Bottom #85

It sounds like that system has been upgraded to Encrypted FSK. I think all ASC nuclear systems were upgraded due to the nuclear system to the north of me also having them. I am also willing to bet that they are using acoustic sensor cards.

Re: Mini/3d Printed sirens

A few things I noticed on your drawing of the T-135. The rotator gear reducer connects to the main stationary gear on the right side of the main gear, not the rear. The projector horns also do not come from the sides like on the T-128 they bolt to the front like the RM-130 / PN-20. The stator castin...
