Re: the CICCA siren rabbit hole

I'd go with the bench grinder personally, since it's easier to mount, IMHO that's a fair trade-off

Re: the CICCA siren rabbit hole

I'd say go with single-phase for simplicity (at the cost of being limited in motor power if you're going to power it from a 16 Amp circuit), since three-phase is a bit of pain to deal with. That bench grinder idea should be enough.

Beware though, it goes without saying that I'm not an electrician.

Re: the CICCA siren rabbit hole

Speaking of making homemade stuff, myself I've been thinking of building a siren control box, there's nothing set in stone yet I'm still at the very early stages of the project.. Still waiting on some parts and the Klaxon of course. I'm gonna take inspiration from a Demay control box most likely, or...

Re: the CICCA siren rabbit hole

Yes I've seen the Xonrupt siren video, and ever since, it's been REALLY itching me to know which company made it. Al Same thing with the 12-port cursed siren. These two I'm dying to know what they really are. Re: the R3P saga - I've been having issues with Leboncoin lately, last time I ran into the ...

Re: the CICCA siren rabbit hole

this is an update from my previous post, so read it first before reading this. so, i have found another cursed siren up in Abbévillers, it looks like this : https://www.google.fr/maps/@47.4313743,6.9185551,3a,15y,119.46h,105.87t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1svkLFGja9EYIrEzL5-w0nOQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656?entry=tt...

Re: the CICCA siren rabbit hole

Sorry, I had some unexpected administrative issues crop up lately... Can't really go into details, other than it's nothing worth worrying about. First, the Abbevilliers siren... It does look like very CICCA-esque, with custom horns fitted? Perhaps the original ones were damaged somehow and new ones ...

Re: the CICCA siren rabbit hole

Those last sirens you linked... If I had a even a remote idea of what these would be.. The horns look like some kind of temporary kludge hack job thrown on the spot "vite fait, mal fait". The 12-port one at first I thought it was a KMEurop KM1S "pancake siren" but since the motor...

Re: the CICCA siren rabbit hole

for the solenoid sirens, they dont do a pulse signal, they shut down the motor like a regular siren, but they do it like the Klaxon/Secomak CS8 sirens, they close the solenoids during winddown, thats literally it. for the CPL sirens.... Ah I get it.. So they wired the solenoid in series with the mo...

Re: the CICCA siren rabbit hole

[snipped for brevity] Re: KMx sirens — Good thinking there! Those pancake sirens always eluded me for as far as I knew they existed. Concerning the Solenoid sirens, I did hear about their existence as well (having seen one on a newspaper article) but I had dismissed it as a one-off, I'm guessing it...

Re: the CICCA siren rabbit hole

Re: Xonrupt - I believe this may be a 8-port with a cover on the ports, the weird ring you see being some sort of "chamber" with only four openings. That's one of the cases where I wish I had a drone or a camera that can zoom very far away ("téléobjectif" or telephoto lens) and c...
