If that video was taken at UAH, the campus has 2 of the 2001 sirens. Fire station 3 well off in the distance has a thunderbeam.

Edit: I checked our map and the 1 mile coverage circle of the thunderbeam does reach across the southern portion of UAH, so you probably can hear it off in the distance.

Yes, most of the sirens in the City of Huntsville and Madison County are mounted on metal tower sections.
