Re: ATI Systems sirens made in China?

ATI manufactures its controllers and equipment in the US. They source the horns from DKTec in Taiwan. I can't recall the exact model of the horn, but it and similar horns like it have existed on the market from various companies, both in Taiwan, China, and other areas around the world, since at leas...

Re: Sentry 10V2T discontinued

Got a neat update for everyone. The siren model is being replaced with a new one, the 10V1T... I hit the nail on the head. :D It is what it looks like, two 3V8-H's stacked on top of each other. At the moment Sentry hasn't put out any updated information on it. If I had to guess this siren will direc...

Whelen Controller Eats Lead, Gets New Front Panel

The WPS-2810 up the street from me got shot by a gun not too long ago. Looking at the entry hole it looks like the bullet was a 45, I'm thinking shot by a Glock or some other handgun. The bullet managed to hit and shred up the logic board and possibly an amp and some other components inside the cabi...

Re: Sentry 10V2T discontinued

The 10V2T didn't really fit in with their modern lineup as far as the SPL per value was concerned. In addition to it not having a battery backup counterpart, they haven't advertised the single-phase version of these in a while now. They had that as an option a while back and probably still carried i...

Sentry Electronic Siren: The SV-8

As I'm sure many of you all know Sentry introduced their VR series a few years ago. The series didn't really seem to go anywhere, and Sentry ended up dropping the series. They did mention that they had an electronic siren on the way when someone asked them to confirm the series' discontinuation, and...

Re: Federal Signal 2001 and Equinox chopper compatibility

The Equinox uses the Eclipse's rotor and an 8 port version of the 130's stator, and the rotor in the 130 is from the Model 5. If I'm not mistaken the Eclipse rotor is an inch bigger than the 130's, something along the lines of 16 inches vs 15 inches, so physically it's impossible to swap the rotors ...

Re: EOWS in raleigh/garner and ECN? In richmond.

The WAVES siren at VCU is an Alertus HPSA. They replaced one of their 2001-130s with a HPSA-2400 after the rotator gave out. I don't know when that system initially went up, but Federal at one point shipped a bunch of 508s, 130s, and possibly some Equinoxes that used a nylon bushing in the rotator a...

Re: Modern ASC digital siren controllers- an information thread

If I'm not mistaken all 10 tones and voice messages installed on the siren's voice board can be accessed remotely via radio without using the CompuLert base station. The controller can be activated by two tone or DTMF including the fast 10 digit protocol Whelen uses. The limit on tones for local act...

RIP WAVES - Series Discontinued With Ironic Twist

As the title states WAVES has been officially dropped by Eaton. The company's website displays the series and its accessories as discontinued. For anyone who has a WAVES system who comes across this looking for help/service, HQE-Systems/SiRcom USA supports the equipment and would probably be the bes...

Re: Mystery siren in Eden Prairie MN

I don't think it's dying because of the rotor being so heavy. I think the drop in pitch is probably the batteries themselves going bad. It sounds like a typical DC-only siren losing speed from a drop in voltage across the batteries. It gets more stable towards the end in attack, which seems to me li...
