Re: "Chickasha tornado sirens in need of major makeover"

Aye now, Whelen makes a good omni. I'm thinking they may be going with I-Forces. The 3200 watt version just got some serious attention according to a post on their Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/AmericanSignalCorporation Interesting stuff. Looks like the drivers are Atlas Sound K-100N, whi...

Re: Perkins, Oklahoma sirens to be replaced

The 2T22 and Thunderbeam sirens would best be replaced by Eclipse 8's/T-121s. The Thunderbolt would best be replaced by a 508 Siren or a T-128. Then they can reuse the existing electrical connections.

Re: I found this interesting photo of a Prototype Thunderbolt!

Clearly this unit was built before any die casting tooling was done for things like the rotor cap and the chopper housing. What you see here is welded steel, standard hot-rolled shapes, and standard plumbing fittings, and the walls of the chopper are formed by steel pipe and two end plates with tens...

Re: Did the Chrysler air raid siren rotate?

Well, gee, I didn't expect all this to happen in the space of a day. I don't agree this thread should be closed as long as ArrowShooter1003 has learnt his lesson (that forum moderation is best left to those with that title), since things should be able to progress normally from here on. I asked a qu...

Re: Fairborn Replaces 2 2T22s

Franklin, OH (south of Dayton) replaced its remaining two 1000Ts with 508s within the past couple of months. I've seen/heard the 1000Ts run this year, but the last time I drove past one of them, the old siren and pole were gone and a new 508 was on a new pole installed in the same hole in the ground...
