Re: How sirens integrate into cities

You can't stress enough, like Josh said, they are meant for OUTDOOR warning only. Sirens are only a small piece of a mass notification system. For a system to be effective, you need to have more ways to let people know something is going down than just sirens. EAS, NOAA Weather Radio, Reverse 911 an...

Re: My new *to me* Model 2

Ahh, so you were the one who outbid me in the last two seconds. At least it went to a board member. Haha, yeah. It worked out quite nicely, instead of paying the $140 to have it shipped, I drove the 2 hours and picked it up myself. He has a Model L still for sale, I don't know if you are interested...

My new *to me* Model 2

Hey all, today I went and picked up a Model 2 which I found on eBay. It is in rough shape but it fired right up when I put power to it. Per the seller, new brushes were recently installed. It is 1 phase, 220 volt. Stay tuned to see it's restoration process.

Re: Siratone Westminster Chime Question

Just to give a heads up, there were revisions of those siratone controllers over the years since the eows was an experimental siren and was a rushed product by federal that used different tone control circuitry starting with the eows c/b* cabinet which was used on the early 1212 and 115. i have one...

Re: Just looking for some info about Siratrol radios.

No, it is not illegal to own one and you do not need a license. It is a one way radio receiver used to listen for the siren's activation tones, you can't talk or "transmit" anything through it. However, if you were to use it to activate a siren without any emergency, that is what could get...

He's only been on the board for a month, cut him some slack. And yes, that topic is where a member found one of the only confirmed model 3Ts in existence.
