Dublin Siren Malfunction

So I'm parking at my workplace and out of nowhere, the siren across the street burst into hi-lo mode. Knowing how some Whelens have a tendency to do this and knowing Dublin never uses this signal, I knew it was a malfunction right off the bat. It went on for about 5 3 minute cycles with only a few s...

Re: Andover, KS sirens

That thunderbolt you shared is actually close to where the 50th St tornado video was taken and not really near Andover at all. The siren heard in the Haysville to Andover video was a 1003 behind Tomorrow's Memories on Central Ave. Unfortunately, both Thunderbolts are gone as I drove by both location...

Re: Andover, KS sirens

Sorry for the bump, but this is relevant and interesting. I happened to be passing through Wichita today, which is also the 25th anniversary of the 91 Andover tornado. I knew of 4 filming locations in the area I could stop at and was successful at 2 of the locations; Terradyne in Andover and E. 50th...

I've probably posted this before...

This was a test conducted about 5 years ago between an ASC iForce-1600, a Federal Signal Modulator and a Whelen WPS-2904.

Re: Whelen WS-3016, Dillsboro, IN

Actually, no. In the video you can tell they are in an alternating "criss-cross" fashion. It might not stand right out from that angle, but you can tell especially right where all the individual horns meet the main projector.

Re: Andover, KS sirens

Any videos with the sirens actually audible are within Sedgwick County. The video posted by Soundmaster 391 is the only video I have ever seen where you can actually hear Andover's old Thunderbolt active and that was taken several weeks after the F5 struck the town. Today, Andover's Thunderbolt that...

$300,000 sounds like they want a set of electronic sirens.

Just FYI, their current system consist of 7 ASC RM-130s, 2 T-121s and 1 T-128.

Mystery Electronic Siren

Below is a video taken from Okinawa in Japan of a Tsunami siren test that features what sounds like several electronic sirens that seem to mimic a high-pitched Thunderbolt or raspy EOWS. Sirens in this video sound a steady tone with no wind-down plus voice. http://youtu.be/QOjGmtw_zrI The next video...
