Just alot of paint stripper and a wire brush.
That's what I am using on my 2T22. It takes forever but the outcome is totally worth it. As I've said before, that restore looks awesome!

Federal Signal 2T22B Restoration Project-Lots of Photos!

As some of you may know, I acquired a 1978 Federal Signal 2T22B in the Fall of 2015. Over the past year that I've had it, I have been cleaning it up, making sure all the parts it has are in good, working order, making sure it runs as it should, removing the old paint, and re-painting it. Here is wha...

Re: Model 5 motor starter

If I remember correctly, it can use the same type of starter my siren uses, a single phase 240V contactor with a 240V coil and a 60A rating for 10HP single phase motors. They can be pretty pricey. Re: How many counties still use thunderbolts?

They are located in Willard, Republic, Ash Grove, Bois D' Arc, Strafford, Kimberling City, Monett, Marionville, Crane and Fair Grove. Totaling up to about 17 Thunderbolts in those counties alo...

The 3V8-B will probably look the same more than likely. It just offers a battery. B=battery

2T22B Acquisition

Some of you may already know, but for those of you that don't, last weekend, I acquired a 1978 Federal 2T22B from the small town of Pleasant Hope, MO. The siren seems to be in perfect operating condition, other than the bearing needing to be replaced. I only got the siren, no controls, motor starter...

freebrickproductions wrote:The siren was made in 2007? Must be one of the earlier 130s then. When did Federal Signal start producing the 2001-130s anyways, 2006 or 2007?
Federal Signal began production of the 2001-130 in 2006. I don't really see why though. The -130 and the SRNB aren't much different
