Not 1003s... ugh, Union Pacific was experimenting with electronic horns to warn trespassers to move over. The concept, though far-fetched, was also found on the Milwakuee Road. Also, it found home on the work trains. Whenever rail grinders are coming through, they sound a mechanical siren close to t...

I found one in a book. It has a CSX yard photo with an STH-10 in it, I'll see if I can find it online.

I hate that... being woken up by the sirens. For me, it's an RSH-10 Thunderbeam and Thunderbolt 1003 combo that I hear. Today, we heard the sirens twice. We were under a tornado warning and I was at a friend's. We could clearly hear the 3T22 nearby. When the storm leveled, we started playing XBox 36...

Very well possible. The yard's been around since the 1900s. It is located right by the parking lot. Also, by where the walkway crosses all the switching tracks. No, it's not used to warn of moving cars, I would've heard it while the trains were crossing it. It's not a loudspeaker either, they're one...

Train Yard Siren?

I know it's not a loud speaker, and it's mounted about person high. I wondered if anyone knew what this was for?:

I know the sentry. The red thing IS a siren. I could see the rotor/stator from the ground. Huge.

Joshua
