Re: My NE IL Siren Photos (Some Rare)

Check out this Darley in Paxton, IL; it's almost as big as the post!

EDIT: File now attached to save screen space. I'll be making thumbnails for ya guys now.

Model 3 or... 5?

Joshua

Re: My NE IL Siren Photos (Some Rare)

Found this in Braidwood, IL behind the police station: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8551/8705520223_88530bdaa5_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8129/8705530061_e1439e3874_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8398/8705525443_143b34ef8b_b.jpg Any guesses? I have no idea what this is. A Sterling? Ch...

Arse is a funny word. Of course, I should be going crazy with patriotic "FEDERAL SIGNAL WINS AGAIN" sort of banter, but I seem to see what I believe is just a regular modulator spruced up a bit with some new minor changes. I was kinda expecting a new Modulator to come with flashing red str...

"It's costs 400,000 dollars to sound these sirens... for 12 seconds." I will give massive respect to the first person to get that reference. 35 dollars is worth it. Why? Because you can do a tag-team system recording. You can get your friends together, station them at the sirens with camer...

Yes, it does make a difference.

When it shines your way, you'll know. It almost sounds like a rotating siren, so it's fairly effective.

I wanna hear "This is a test of the outdoor warning system." in Arabic now.

It would appear to be a secondary siren since that Horman is probably the main siren, going by a Israeli PSA. So, I'd say the Modulator is the tsunami siren.

I would've put this in the General Discussion area because there you CAN add a poll. That's where I put my future siren recording topic.

Yes, a lot of places nearby have 2001s. Kankakee, IL; Manteno, IL; Bradley, IL; and other places scattered around have 2001s. Chicago has Modulators, and Watseka, IL is replacing the old Federal sirens with new Whelen 2800? series. I still miss Watseka's old Thunderbolt, but hey... at least they sti...

Well, that's no good.

Hmm, sounds like a scary situation. We have quite a lot of ASC products once you go near the nuclear stations. Wilmington, IL has a P-50 and there's another one just East of Seneca, IL. I'm sure there's more out there, I just haven't nailed them all down. Other than that, we have tons of T-128s. As ...
