Re: Columbus, OH's Old CD/Tornado Siren System

There was at least one if not two Franklin County CD sirens (Both Thunderbolt 1000’s, 1952 units) that were Federal Enterprises units. These units came from Cleveland/Cuyahoga County after CD was closed in the city and county in 1972 and all sirens were gone by 1973 (save for a couple suburbs that ...

Re: "Jailbar" Thunderbolt question

PPL Susquehanna Steam Electric Station in Berwick, PA once had a system of Thunderbolt 1000s, and some of which had some unique jailbar grilles, in which the jailbars only went horizontal. This is the only picture I could find of one. Also unlike a normal jailbar thunderbolt, these Thunderbolts wer...

Re: Is this a bumblebolt?

By the way, the Thunderbolt in that video almost definitely had stripes at one point, since it was likely installed around the same time as the infamous Smiley Middle School bumblebolt.

Re: Is this a bumblebolt?

On my phone I can see the bars. She’s a jailer. Too bad you can’t hear the pulsate though... and they didn’t switch the leads because it was replaced by a 2001-130. It’s still there it’s just not connected (according to a couple of years ago...) and I think if someone gets her down they can keep ‘e...

Re: St. Louis, Mo. and St. Louis County, Mo. siren history

There's one Thunderbolt still standing in St. Louis County that I'm aware of. It's on top of a government building at 38.685334, -90.370564. The siren apparently survived a building fire in the 1970's, according to a newspaper article.

Kiron, Iowa has a Thunderbolt 1003. it may have been removed.
I would recommend checking the map before suggesting locations. Most of the stuff you and Phone Goat have notified us about is already marked.

Re: Marshfield MO 2001-SRNB and Thunderbolt 1000A Test 6/13/18

More news The siren was installed in 1956. it is a Federal Sign And Signal Thunderbolt 1000A. There's no way that Thunderbolt was installed in 1956. We already established in a Discord conversation that it had a 4M size blower, which wasn't introduced until 1965. Well then what is it? because the f...

That makes at least two nuclear plants that are known to have had ACA products, with the other being Cook Nuclear in Michigan. If there are others, I haven't heard of them yet.
The Crystal River Nuclear Plant in Florida had various ACA sirens, including a few Hurricanes.
