exactly. when I got my P-10 recording two years ago, it was by luck that I was out of work that day and had my friend's cassette recorder. I didn't know until the day before. with my job now, it's hard to schedule a day off unless I know a few weeks before hand. I read somewhere that they do "s...

Three Mile Island Siren Testing

Traditionally, TMI conducts its annual functional test of the sirens towards the end of June. They let 'em rip for one 3-5 minute alert cycle. It's very difficult to find out the exact time and day that it's done, usually it's done on or near the 29th. The problem is, I'd like to get a video of one ...

I'd love to see a system that can decode NOAA's EAS tones and activate indoor warning signals throughout facilities that should have one - healthcare, educational, etc. I work in the fire alarm world, where notifying people, and making sure people are notified, is my job. Many systems, instead of ju...

the 2001s recently added for Three Mile Island are all on wooden poles. Most are replacing existing sirens, but some have been added in new locations, too.

I think the Cyclones have 8/12 port rotors. I don't know for sure, next time I drive by one, I'll take a count. my closest TMI cyclone siren is a block and a half away.

the SD-10s have a slight Penetrator or Allertor sound to them... especially during the wind-up. while they're running, the tone is off by just a hair.

actually, isn't this a P-10? it looks and sounds exactly like the P-10s we have here for Three Mile Island. This has a cone-shaped intake, while the P-15s have a straight cylindrical shaped intake. I've wanted to see a P-10 in action for a while. they only run them annually for testing. all I have i...

well then I don't know where to post them, since everyone tells me something different, and everything thus far requires everyone to have a membership.

when I get time, I'll just upload them to personal webspace that I know works. this way, there are no more questions or issues.

That's a great sound! T-135's sound reeeeeally creepy in attack. I have a video where the prominent sirens are a P-50 and a P-10 in attack as heard from my front yard, but I can't get it to a format suitable for uploading to youtube. I can't wait to film another Milwaukee P-50, since the one time I...
