It must be directional, the shroud projects the sound in one direction. It says it was installed on a dam, where directional sound projection is often needed.

I keep wondering why they had to develop a totally different siren, the 508, while they had already the Equinox with the same pitch (?), which is actually a modified 2001. Maybe the 2001 design is not so effective with lower pitches, given that the projected sound comes only from the chopper ports?

It seems the siren is indeed a Fedelcode model 2 (or 3?). Probably the one and only American siren in Greece. A real mystery how it made it to Thrace...
