Re: Genuine "Jailbar?" Bumblebolt found in Sault Ste. Marie, MI

Weird that it is out in the middle of nowhere like that. Sure is a shame that whenever we find something possibly rare like this the street view hasn't been updated in 10 years. I do have a feeling that this may possibly be the one Ty Bellfy did a walkaround of in 2011. https://www.youtube.com/watc...

I have a VERY strong feeling this has a Jailbar Grille It is very likel...

Federal Signal 2T22A Noon Blast, Alburnett, Iowa

I finally got a decent recording of the 2T22 in Alburnett https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtGYXJA5pgk It goes off everyday at 12:00 and 6:00 The siren is one of the healthiest 2T22s I've ever heard, the siren is 3 phase. Very fast wind-up, I'm assuming the 2T22 was installed in the late 70's or the ...

Re: How do I build an electronic siren control cabinet?

There's no real way to do what you plan to do. Granted, you can build a cabinet with an amplifier with an AUX jack port in it, but the buttons would have to be put under software control. Programs like Flowol 4 will do that for you if you can find a supported physical interface which you can plug i...

How do I build an electronic siren control cabinet?

In the future, I most likely will start a company that will manufacture sirens, and I need to know how to build a control cabinet like the Federal Signal SiraTone / MC Cabinet or the Whelen cabinets. So I'm saying I need to build cabinet that would have buttons that would play a specific tone, and h...

Re: Vintage siren photos thread

A 3 horsepower New Red Arrow being unpacked on December 25th, 1941 in the city of Seattle, Washington. This siren was built by the Decot Engineering Works of St. Paul, MN. Seattle had 9 of these 3 horsepower sirens and a large 10 horsepower Red Arrow which were bought alongside a slew of Federal Mo...

Re: What type of siren could this be: The "TV/movies" Siren

This is one in their current lineup. This one has one rotor, however there were some that were built that were single tone with dual rotors 10/10. http://www.klaxonsignals.com/fire/uploads/Main_FP_Range_2.jpg On a side note the company e2s sales sirens with a similar style. They are sold in the UK,...

Flue Caps / Vent Caps Identical to Model 2 shrouds

So down my street, there are houses that have flue caps that look exactly like the shroud of a Federal Model 2, except that the tops are flat. Can anybody tell me what these caps are called? I would like to make a custom housing for my VES-145, or another siren like a Model A (L, or D, or J) if I ev...

You are awesome man! good luck on the channel.
btw, Is the 1000A1 Jailbar?
Yes, it is. It was installed here in Wichita in 1955 along with twelve others as demonstration units.
Does it have any stripes? or at least look like it used to have stripes?
