That's a great find! I think that's the only T-bolt that is reported still in place in SoCal as of now. I personally checked out the Beverly Hills locations last week, and all are gone. I'll have to stop out in West Covina and get a photo, which I will post here.

Thanks for posting this one!

Don't get me started on ranting about frivolous and meaningless California laws, but I am glad it wasn't ME who got "caught". I would have laid into the guards, and probably be in big trouble for doing so at this moment. I have a good mind to march out to Chino with a HUGE camera and an el...

Just about all new sirens are going to be pole mounted per the manufacturers recommendations. Most of these new sirens will be either located at a public building like a firehouse, cop shop, or school, or just on city right of ways. Actually, almost all of Chicagos sirens are located on city right ...

Photo of The Feminized Federal in North Hollywood, CA

I had posted about this atrocity several months ago, and finally had a moment in that neighborhood with my camera... Here's a photo that I took today of the hot pink Federal 500 AT (?) in the parking lot of the 99-cent store in North Hollywood, CA. This is on the South side of Victory Bl just East o...

Thanks Brendan for the input... I also remembered after this post, that there are the remains of a Chrysler on the Firestone Tire plant in Southgate, CA. So I guess it is less common to see sirens than cellphone towers on private property, but they do exist.

Sirens mounted on private property within a lease?

Another thread brought this to my mind.... In Los Angeles, there are many situations where cellphone antennae are mounted on privately owned buildings and on poles in private yards. The property owners are VERY well-paid! Does anyone know of a similar situation with a CD or storm siren? I mean an of...

You should go check out dana point. They have some new Whelen 612's and some old custom made toshiba (yes the same people who made tv's) blower powered sirens. Would those be part of the San Onofre nuclear plant warning system? Dana Point is a bit north of San Onofre, but I am wondering why else? (...

Los Angeles County, CA (all are abandoned as of the 1980s)

Below is a list of sirens which are still installed, but derelict and abandoned by the county of Los Angeles. I have personally verified these locations within the past few months as still being in place. There are probably 100 more which are believed still existing , but that I have not yet verifie...
