I'm FINALLY going to find out in about 2 hours, how the new Dallas system sounds at our place. I haven't been here on test day since the Thunderbolt at fire sta. 10 was removed. It looks from the Dallas siren map, like we're in the middle between #11 (Rosemeade west of the Tollway) & #16 (Frankf...

Both of my SD10s are dual voltage (240/480). There is a metal ID plate with the wire numbers and hookup to select the voltage. 9 wires from the motor windings total, but only 3 wires for power (no neutral) . They're to be connected to the appropriate combination of wires from the motor per the chart...

I saw a few more too, so I'm pleased that they didn't rush around and scrap all of them (as happened in Huntington Beach, CA). In Jan '07, the T-Bolts were all standing and tested on the last Friday, and one month later, all were gone and new 2001s in place. When I called the agency in charge of the...

Charles, How long you in town for? We're going to be at the Cooper Clinic today, then leaving tomorrow, but likely will be back for a couple more weeks soon. I'd like to catch the test a week from Wednesday, but that doesn't work with our schedule  . We got cheated when they took out the T-Bol...

Dallas Thunderbolts 2012 count?

I am happy to report that the T-bolt at Hillcrest High School is still standing proud; not (yet) removed as of last night (11/24/12). I haven't had a chance to check out any other possible remaining sites yet, but I'll try to do so during this coming week. I was pleasantly surprised to see that one,...

Great article! Thanks for sharing that, and for your continuing efforts in verifying and keeping track of the remaining LA sirens. Gotta check out the Franklin Canyon siren. Sounds like a location they might have put a Chrysler!

Just curious; what types of emergencies would that system be used for normally? I assume tsunami, but there aren't (usually) tornadoes, nor hurricanes, and I can't imagine any purpose in an earthquake....

Nice work, and thanks for your efforts in doing that, and sharing it here! I see that you don't show the one at Mandeville Canyon & Sunset Blvd., and now I'm racking my memory as to whether that was a model 5/7 and not a 500T? (or is it gone  ? ) . Several of the West Valley 500Ts have be...

Now that we all know where we do and don't live, this thread doesn't need to live any further
