Quick reminder and absolutely being pedantic, but "M-5" isn't a name Sterling ever used, they're just Model Ms.
He joined before many of us were even born, I think he gets a pass... Wasn't sure much would come from this thread, glad to hear it's still around.

Re: Chrysler in New Zealand

Maybe 15 years ago - just going from loose memory - there were known to be two Chrysler-Bells still in China that the US sent over there. The only two known to remain. One had since been fitted with a large electric motor, and the other had a replacement engine that was different from the original....

Re: [WIP] Sirens at Scout Camps

This is super cool and totally intriguing. Do you have any photos of any of the sirens? Edit: By the way, the unconfirmed P-15 marker in NY has a suspicious P-15 shaped blob down and to the left: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Lake+Arrowhead/@40.960244,-72.7718275,37m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m6!3m5!1s0x8...

They were real Teho-Ulvos. Seems like the Whelens have since replaced these.

What's left of a Sterling siren. Looks like the motor burnt out and was converted to belt drive at some point.

Definitely looks like a Model B... this one is an oddball. Could just be a housing modification, but it almost looks like it has shutters installed.

Re: Early Fedelcode/Federal Electric Model 5/7?

It's hard to tell from the pictures, but based on your description, it's likely a Model 20. There are still a few units up and running, likely a few more that have been overlooked. Aside from the chopped up housing, I'm surprised how well it's held up. Cool find 182829323_924444431702190_33487408554...

Re: Vintage siren photos thread

I'm unsure, but it could just be an unconventionally shaped chimney. It does kind of look like a Red Arrow, but I don't really see a mount or a pole. I was looking at it closer, and it seems too tall to be a Decot. If it is a siren, judging by its overall shape and height, it may possibly be a Cosg...
