Running a Motor Siren from a Generator?

I would like to ask if anyone has experience running a 3 phase siren from generator and what capacity of a generator is best to run a siren, ie. the generator having an output in KWs of 100%, 150% or 200% of the motor's rating?

Many thanks.

The quoted power requirement in the SCMP article converts to 211 horsepower; the specs sheet says 220. So it requires quite a bit more power than the Chrysler did, and yet is 8db quieter? There would be more than sufficient coverage, and the voice announcements would be a great bonus. The current Klaxons aren't too impressive in terms of v...

Re: Broadmoor Escape sirens?

Last Summer, West London Mental Health NHS Trust were looking at various sirens, including those made by Klaxon, as replacements. They are aware of the nostalgia about the sirens and gave a favourable indication that there maybe the possibility of purchasing the decommissioned sirens.

Re: Cheapest & simplest phase protector for 3 phase siren?

I use Shneider Electric GV2 motor circuit breakers to protect my Castle Castings sirens from a loss of a phase.

Broadmoor Hospital - Escape Sirens

Two splendid videos made of the Klaxon CS8 sirens, with their unusual coded shutters, in operation around the Broadmoor high-security psychiatric hospital, Crowthorne, UK.

Re: Distance Recording: My Federal Electric Model D In Alert

Was the siren sited by house? Did you get someone to switch it on for you or was there a timer or remote trigger? The siren was at the house and. No, I left the camera on recording. I was the person who sound off my siren. I start the camera on recording before the test and I ran back to the house ...
