It was an E57 siren. Never heared of any signal that is 45 mins long. So I`m a bit surprised, as well, that it`s still functional. But I think, they better find that key, just in case of...

A friend just told me about this. The siren in their village didn't stop running after it's weekly testrun. It is located atop an empty building and to stop the siren they had to get into the building. Problem was, nobody knew, where to fibd the keys. After 45 mins the siren finally stopped by itsel...

When I saw this video the first time, I thought, this siren must be malfunctional. I got curious and looked up some more KTGs on youtube, but they all sounded the same. And it is very unlikely, that all the swiss KTGs are malfunctional. If I wouldn`t know they sound like this, and one would go off, ...

Switzerland`s dying elephants

The swiss have some really strange sirens. The KTGs. They were built by Kockum Sonics of Sweden, but as far as I know, only the swiss use them. They consist of different air horns. Unfortunately I was not able to find out, what KTG stands for, but I do know, that the number behind the "KTG"...

As far as I know, some still do. There are some recordings on youtube from those old sirens, they have a real creepy sound. But I can`t tell you, where those old sirens are located, but definetely not in my area. The oldest sirens we got here is a L141, which is not active anymore. The fire brigade ...

I will try to make a recording of my neighbor, next saturday. But I only got an iPhone, so I don`t know for the quality. If it works, I`ll put it on youtube.

I would like to see one of the old WW2 sirens in action, like FmSi40. But there are none in my area.
