Re: 1986 ACA Alertronic 6000R

Apparently the Carson-recommended equivalent First off, best of luck. Looking beautiful. This made me wonder: did Carson make everything for ACA's electronics in the early days? Curious what, if anything, ACA did in house with the electronic components. Carson made both revisions of the old analog ...

Re: Is "Test" Actually a option on siren control panels?

In the world of American Signal sirens, we have a function called "Test". This is generally what button 1 on the CompuLert controller is programmed for. All it does is engages the main siren motor for one second and rotates for like 6 or seven seconds. It is basically a growl test. No matt...

Re: Eden, WI STH-10?

The STH-10 by the pizza place was the only one replaced because it no longer worked. I'm pretty sure they only bought a rectifier and Eclipse siren head and that everything else from the old STH-10 was re-used.

Re: Waukesha legacy system

Very cool! When I lived there, the alertronics were dual toned. I heard most of them go off over the years. Obviously the one at West was not. The eows were also dual toned but obviously used the federal tone generator so sounded a bit different. I never knew that they upgraded the tone generators,...

Re: Waukesha legacy system

Couple thoughts. We are the City's current siren contractor. We recently had to take the Alertronic down on Avalon Manor due to Verizon putting in a new 5G tower where the Alertronic was. As Max mentioned, we found the controls for the old 500 near where the controls to the Alertronic were. Before t...

Re: Model 2 siren in Kingston, WI

Update 9/20/2023: Yesterday, we completed install on the T-112. It is located where the old Model 2 was. The siren will be controlled by Green Lake County, but the village representative was not sure when it would be tested.

Re: Model 2 siren in Kingston, WI

The siren reportedly burned up. They have since approved a quote for a new T-112 siren. We should have it up in the next month or so I would imagine.

The siren was removed in the early 2000s' and replaced with the T-128 you see. The siren was placed on the existing pole. I believe the blower and controls were scrapped, but the head was saved and is at American Signal. We brought the siren head to SirenCon 2023 and ran it up on a Thunderbolt blower.

Re: There is a Hurricane at Sirencon right now!!!

Allow me to shed light on this subject. Since Josh (one of the SWS guys) started SirenCon and he runs the show he was looking for sponsorship. The SirenCon staff reached out of Federal Signal who told them to get in contact with the other Wisconsin siren company that shall not be named. As you can i...
