The Siren Board

So I finally managed to get video of our town's siren. I didn't catch the windup, but got the rest of the cycle.
I think it might be single phase, because it is a capacitor start siren. I guess you can watch the video to figure out:

Our department's sirens both do 3 cycles of attack, a Sentry 5V and a Model 5. The model 5 also does a growl at the end of the cycle. The sirens are activated by our pager tones. I want to put up a siren at our third station, but the people would probably complain too much.

Sirens aren't too easy to get in PA

The siren may have dying batteries, like the 2001 in this video. It happens sometimes to older 2001's. Could that be the problem?

I heard the sirens will be replaced with T-128's, though a 40v2t would be an awesome replacement for Cyclones in the system. Does anybody know how we could get our hands on some sirens out of the old system?

I'm a big fan of any Sentry sirens, probably the 40v2t I like the most. As for electronic sirens, I'm not too fond of those, but I like low-toned Whelens.

Wow, that beats my homemade siren in a landslide! I wonder how far that thing can be heard.
