Re: How loud is an STH-10?

I've heard any 3 of the STH-10s around here at pretty comparable distances over the years, especially the lower pitched one. Having two mountains to bounce between may help.

That one in particular was about 4 miles from my old house, and it was loud enough to be heard indoors in certain conditions.

Re: Sirens + Guns = ?

Does anyone have 3 logical reasons why some fool would shoot at a siren? 1. It is loud and annoying and they want it dead. 2. Just a target they can shoot at because. 3. Fun to see if they can get away with it. DING DING DING DING!!!! We have a winner! As an avid firearms collector and enthusiast, ...

Re: STH-10 in Attack in Cresson, PA

I hate to bump an old thread, but I spent the first 7 months of my life directly across the street from this very active (at the time, at least) siren. My old house is now a parking lot. It is most likely what inspired the terror, which eventually turned into fascination and obsession which has stre...

Re: 2T22 Monthly Tornado Siren Test, Attack Signal - Boiling Springs, NC

One of the local SD-10s is set on this timing. Hearing it in concert with the other, "attack" timed SD-10 and the STH-10B echoing through the valley for an all call is absolutely haunting.

Re: Federal Signal Model 7A - Summerhill, PA

I've lived in Altoona for 24 years and I have only once happened to be near a siren anywhere in this general region while it was being activated, and you happen to catch one just visiting the area?!

Great video, by the way.

It's real. I had a picture of it before my hard drive crashed in April 2011.

We've known of this for a long time. It's still pretty cool, though.

Yeah I remember seeing the pictures on here. I couldn't remember if this was the same one, so thanks for clarifying.

Fedelcode dual-rotor vertical 9/12 port in attack

I saw this video years ago but could never manage to find it again due to the non-descriptive title, and I just happened to stumble across it again a few minutes ago. This is undoubtedly the best recording of a dual tone Fedelcode of this type out there.
